As I think about this months Hot Topic, I think about pushing through the difficult times at the end of a school year.  You  are usually finishing up on projects, your professors have remembered all the homework they meant to assign so now you are overloaded and you are trying to just keep your head above water.  Sometimes it feels like maybe all those showers are turning into flash floods, but keep in mind there is an end in sight.

Some tips to survive the end of a semester are:

-Prioritize your work.  Make sure are getting the important things done, if you need to make a list of when things are due and how important they are to achieving what you want.

-Talk to your professors if you are having trouble.  They really do know what you are going through and are willing to help you out as long as you are willing to talk to them and put in the effort.

-Take breaks when you need them.  Just because there are a lot of things that need to be done doesn’t mean there isn’t time for you to have a break. In fact, having a break might help you figure out that problem you were stuck on.

-Get enough sleep!  While you may have lots of things to do, if you aren’t working on enough sleep you aren’t going to be as productive as you would be.

If all else fails, just print off one of these and tape it to your desk or wall. :-)

Good luck on finishing up your school year!
