At the end of the school year, some of you may be graduating, some of you may have internships, some summer jobs and some will be continuing school! But no matter what your plans, there are plenty of ways to continue with SWE in the future.
Here are some ideas to help you stay involved over the summer and future.
-If you are moving somewhere new for whatever reason, look up where the closest professional section is and try to attend a meeting or activity. You can see where professional sections are here.
-Update your SWE Resume and upload it on SWE Careers. This is a great way to get that job or internship in the future.
-Begin to plan what you are going to do during the next year in SWE, what activities you want to participate in and what goals you want to achieve. You can learn more about goals in January’s Hot Topic.
-If you are starting a career, look for SWE professionals that could be your mentor! They are more than willing to help you transition into a professional.
-Check out the webinars that are available to you, FREE, as a paid member. There are some really cool ones out there and some that are definitely applicable to you no matter what stage in life you are in. Here’s a good one to start with, it’s called Engineering Leadership for the 21st Century.
There are many other things you can do to be involved with SWE throughout the summer and there are many great opportunities to continue in SWE as a professional.
