For those of you who don’t know, last week was the Collegiate Leadership Forum for fiscal year 2012, CLF FY12!  It was held in Austin, Texas and it was fantastic.  What happens is all of the region collegiate teams (RCT) from every region meet up to plan for the next year and learn how to succeed in our roles.

Those who attended from our region included our two Representatives (RCR), Megan and Vicki; our senator, Kim; our Communications Editor (RCCE), Wendy (me!); and our SWE Future Leader (SWEFL), Nafisah.  While we were there we planned out goals for the year and are excited to begin working on them.  One of my goals is to get more posts from you guys!  That means if you have anything SWEet that you want posted, shoot me an email! (

We also were able to attend the SWE FY12 Board of Directors (BOD) Installation.

Here is a list of the BOD for FY12:

  • Melissa Tata:  President, FY12

We also got to meet with many of these women throughout the weekend.  All of them are amazing and if you ever get the chance to talk to any of them, DO IT!  They will tell you anything you want to know about SWE and why they got involved.  They will also tell you why they chose engineering and much more!

While we were in Austin, we had the pleasure of going on a bus tour!  It was a lot of fun and a great way to end the weekend!  We saw the capital, SoCo (South Congress) including food trailers and shops, the bats of Austin and much more!

As your RCT, we want you to know that we are here for you and please let us know what we can do to make your SWE year fantastic!
