SWE-UCLA Activities Fair

Hello everyone! Here’s how SWE’s UCLA chapter started off this year with a bang.

Every year at UCLA, there is an “Enormous Activities Fair” where hundreds of clubs set up booths to strut their stuff in front of newcomers and new club hunters alike.

At any given hour of the fair, there were at least four or five officers at the table decked out in SWE apparel, calling out to STEM majors of all genders and giving their own spiel of what SWE is all about and the numerous opportunities we offer. This year we are pushing for more men to join and be aware of the problems women suffer in engineering, and our officers were able to talk to many male students and get them to sign up for our newsletter. We also handed out hundreds of flyers advertising our first general meeting and our Santa Monica beach social.

Reaching out to the students of UCLA this year was a genuine pleasure to all the officers, and undoubtedly beneficial to the students.
