SWE-UCLA’s annual mentorship event with Northrop Grumman was held on Thursday, January 21st. It provided attending students the opportunity to network and get advice from current Northrop employees about resume building, the job application process, and working in the defense industry. A satisfying dinner was provided, and students mingled with their peers and Northrop employees before a rotational system was implemented, in which students were allowed five minutes to speak one-on-one with an employee before they moved on to another. Resumes from all the attendees were collected at the end of the event. Since quite a few UCLA students end up working for Northrop Grumman through internships and/or full-time positions, this was a great event for Northrop employees to scout new talent and for students to learn more about the company.
