The 4-H program is a national organization that focuses on youth development through hands-on activities. SWE’s Cal Poly SLO outreach members travelled to our neighboring city, Paso Robles, to visit our local 4-H section on December 1st. The afterschool program on Thursdays focuses on learning about STEM. Our volunteers taught the elementary students about polymer chemistry by making colorful slime and about non-Newtonian fluids by making goo. The students enjoyed the mini organic chemistry lesson, and loved learning from our volunteers!
